Kindergarten Music, January 2026

This month students are listening to the music of American duo Black Violin. Black Violin is a violin and viola duet that blends classical music with hip hop! At our first class back from break, students sounded wonderful singing Fais Dodo as a group. Next week, they will have the opportunity to sing that piece individually if they want to. We are continuing our work with the song Frog in the Meadow, and just began listening to the piece You Sing a Song.

In January we are going to begin exploring the musical concept of dynamics (loudness and softness). We continue exploring music through movement in a variety of ways, including folk dances, choreographed movement to classical music, and improvised movement to recorded music.
